Terms of Service

Last updated: April 29, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Skizze ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

Skizze is an online marketplace that connects clients with freelance professionals. We provide the platform and tools to facilitate service discovery, communication, and order management. Skizze is not a party to the agreements between clients and freelancers.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading information in your profile or service listings
  • Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activities
  • Circumvent the Platform to avoid fees or obligations
  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
  • Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Platform without permission
  • Impersonate another person or entity

5. Restricted Content & Activities

The Platform may not be used to offer, list, advertise, or transact any of the following:

  • Adult or sexually explicit content, escort services, or related material
  • Drugs, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, or related products
  • Firearms, ammunition, weapons, or related accessories
  • Gambling, betting, lottery, or wagering services
  • Counterfeit goods, pirated media, or any service that infringes third-party intellectual property
  • Multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes, get-rich-quick programs, or financial schemes
  • Hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that incites violence or discrimination
  • Academic dishonesty (writing thesis or homework for someone to submit as their own)
  • Any business or activity included in the Stripe Restricted Businesses list, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference

When publishing a service, freelancers must explicitly confirm that the service does not infringe this section. Skizze may at any time remove listings, suspend accounts, and seize available balances of any user found to be operating outside of these restrictions, with or without prior notice.

6. Freelancer Obligations

Freelancers are responsible for the quality and timely delivery of their services. Service listings must accurately represent the work offered. Freelancers are independent contractors, not employees of Skizze.

7. Client Obligations

Clients must provide clear requirements and respond to freelancer communications in a timely manner. Clients agree to review deliveries and provide feedback within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Orders and Payments

Orders are created when a client hires a service through the Platform. Payment terms, methods, and any applicable fees will be communicated clearly before an order is confirmed. All transactions are subject to our payment processing policies.

9. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise agreed between client and freelancer, intellectual property rights for work delivered transfer to the client upon full payment. Freelancers retain the right to display completed work in their portfolio unless restricted by the client.

10. Dispute Resolution

In case of disputes between clients and freelancers, both parties should first attempt to resolve the issue through direct communication via the Platform. Skizze may, at its discretion, mediate disputes but is not obligated to do so.

11. Freelancer Liability for Chargebacks, Refunds & Fines

Freelancers acknowledge that clients may dispute a transaction with their card-issuing bank for up to 120 days after payment, and that Skizze, as the merchant of record, is financially responsible for any chargeback, refund, or penalty applied by the payment processor.

When a chargeback or refund is attributable to the freelancer's delivery (including but not limited to undelivered work, work materially outside the agreed scope, content infringing Section 5, or quality substantially below what was advertised), Skizze reserves the right to:

  • Deduct the disputed amount, plus any associated processing fees and chargeback penalties, from the freelancer's available balance on the Platform
  • Withhold future payouts until the matter is reconciled
  • Suspend or terminate the freelancer's account in cases of repeated incidents (three or more chargebacks, or a chargeback rate exceeding 1% of total transactions over any rolling 60-day period)

Fines or penalties levied against Skizze by the payment processor as a direct result of a freelancer's conduct (including violations of Section 5) will be passed through in full to the responsible freelancer.

12. Limitation of Liability

Skizze provides the Platform "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Account Suspension & Termination

Skizze may suspend or terminate any account, with or without prior notice, that:

  • Violates these Terms or any policy referenced herein
  • Receives substantiated reports of fraud, harassment, or restricted activity
  • Exhibits a chargeback rate exceeding 1% of transactions over any rolling 60-day period
  • Is reasonably suspected of fraudulent or abusive behavior, including but not limited to fake reviews, off-platform circumvention, or impersonation

A positive available balance held by a suspended freelancer will be released within 30 days of suspension, after deduction of any pending refunds, chargebacks, or fines. The user has 7 days from notice of suspension to contest the action by writing to support@skizze.io; Skizze will review the contest in good faith but the final decision rests with Skizze. You may delete your account at any time from your settings; upon deletion, the same balance-release rules apply.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or Platform notification.

15. Contact

If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us at legal@skizze.io.
